Visualising your data

Short Session, presented by Simon Reid.

It’s everywhere you look. It informs, entertains, directs and instructs. It’s data. And its visualisation of data.

Data Visualisation is the representation of data or information using some type of graphical or illustrative form.

Historically, data stored in databases has been visually represented in the form of table structures. Rows and columns of numbers and words that have inherent relationship and relevance that is not immediately clear.

In more contemporary times, data has been freed from its table structures. And the result is a myriad of visual techniques that better represent the wealth of information contained within. The recent surge in (generation of and access to) data has essentially dictated a fresh approach to the presentation of this data.

Using practical examples, Simon will expose the various forms of Data Visualisation. Illustrating the benefits and techniques used to provide real business value.
